Macbook Pro on snare stand?

My band is running synth tracks through Reason in our live set now, and I'm going to be the one controlling the computer. I vaguely remember seeing a few set-ups where drummers had mounted their Macbook on a snare stand to the left of the hats, but I can't seem to find anything on this. I would try and test it out right now but I'm in my dorm room and won't have access to any hardware until next week. Has anyone had any success with this? Thanks.

I'm sure it would work well, as long as the stand is sturdy. there are also drum tables that you could put the laptop on.

Really its more about where you put it than what you put it on. I've used music stands, barstools, percussion tables and floor toms, but I've never had an extra snare stand to use that wasn't occupied by a snare. I don't see why it wouldn't work, but really the first thing you wanna do is figure out where the placement works best for you.
