[insane drummer]

I set up a Frappr for drummer world. You fill out your info, and it plots you on the map. We can see just exactly where the members of DrummerWorld are located.

And as is typical, all the defult settings only showed the USA, but I changed that.

yeah some people seem to live in the strangest places if you zoom in as far as possible on the satelite map. like fourstrings should be living in the middle of a forrest. that's something he never told us before.

Fun just getting it set up ... it initially pegged me a little ways from where I really am, but I fiddled around and now if you zoom in far enough on the satellite map, the marker is directly on the corner of my roof!

Yes - just a neighbour of me - Roger - is going there every year.

True: I used to play with his father together in a Club-Team, and his little 8 year old son couln't play with us, because he was too little..... But we are so proud of him now here in Basel/Switzerland.

What am I doing wrong?!I think I had a same problem - then just recognised that multiple choices came up. You take one of them and then you can manipulate the marker manually to right position....I guess...for me it worked.

You may want to watch those riptides. I used to row on the Thames (I live on the Thames, well a town on the Thames, near the estuary) and well...

Also watch out for the dead bodies under tower bridge, it has its own mortuary as I'm sure you're aware.

Going to the US it's pretty direct - across the pacific, in via LAX and change flights there most of the time.

When I'm doing the whole other-side-of-the-planet thing and going for the UK it really just depends who is giving the best price. Historically I tend to prefer Air New Zealand, who run the longest single scheduled flight on the planet (AKL->LAX->LHR, with only a one-hour refueling stop in LAX) because it gets it over and done with as quickly as possible - about 23 hours, 22 or so of those in the air. However since the Americans took up being rude and doing nasty things like fingerprinting transit passengers I might prefer the other way these days. That would typically either be Cathay Pacific (who I used to work for) with a change in Hong Kong or Singapore Airways with a change in Singapore.

With all that said, I've not been out of NZ since 2001. Really ought to. I think I was a little put off flying after last time when I flew out of London Heathrow on September 16th 2001... "Chaos" does not describe it.

I do not doubt that you might be a very very good Drummer, but you really must learn not to be "very arrogrant". A good Drummer must not only be good in his drumming (like you do) but must likewise inculcate a "Good Attitude" too. This you must learn.

Hi i am trying to join this map, but i am finding it hard to find a town near by thats actually recognized. IM actually from St Joseph Island in northern Ontario canada. But the nearest city, Which is Sault Ste Marie, ON which has about 70,000 ppl is not recognized, yet a town of 300 is? Is there a way of adding new places on the maps?

I you have a wrong place you go to "update your location" and then you point to the exact place in the map - save - and you're done....

This is a cool thing...I love dummerworld more and more...I love connecting with everyone here...I have been such a fan for a long time and now to be a non-lurker is cool...I have been to other forums as of late and it seems whenever I read and take the time to "do the right things when posting," someone still loves to "jump on your Sh**..." I just don't get it...but here...not the case...so I will be a drummerworld poster-er exclusively...yes...this is my rightful place and I am home...*sigh*....home...

Got my first drum kit on Christmas (12/25), joined yesterday (12/26), and posting my first comment today (12/27). I am from Atlanta, Ga., and I have never played drums. Have always wanted to, but never invested the time or money until now. I bought a practice pad, a book, couple pairs of sticks, and am working on my rudiments. I love it!!!

Its nice to hear somebody is starting out with a pad and rudemints. That is definatly the way to go. If there's any advice I have for someone just starting out, it's to pay more attention to what your ears want to hear, than what your hands want to do. I always try to remember that its' really a bout making music, not just playing drums. and most important, HAVE FUN!!!!!!
