So over the MANY years of music, we have made thousands of different genres. Do you think we have made as many types of music possible or do you think there is still so many types of music/instruments to be found or made? I think we would have to do a lot now to make a new genre since there are soo many types right now. This was just a question that came to me. Thanks for replies if there are any.

There will be one tomorrow. You just have to listen and hear or want to hear something new. You could produce the next one yourself.

As long as there is mankind, there will be genres of manykind.
(...................sorry......................)
I think the beauty of music is that it's going both directions.
There are guys who push the limits of music, working with computers, composing in new directions all the time.
At the same time theres been an interesting resurgence of music that went out of style years ago. Wolfmother came out with that 'classic rock' Led Zep style music and spawned another generation of bands just like that. The Darkness came through with their falsetto vocals and over the top guitar solos, spawning a new wave. Wynton Marsalis has made a very successful career playing traditional jazz. I'm assuming grunge will be back in soon enough.
Back on topic: I'd say the search for new music will never end.

True to all the replies. I guess at a sense, if there wasn't anything new to music, you could just say it stopped, and we would have to entertain ourselves with the music we have. But y'all are right, music will take its own course I guess.

Music fuels soul, then it's an endless and exploring cycle.

I think that all 'new' music genres borrow from the music that came before it. Even rock 'n roll, one of the most important and influential musical genres to develop in the past century, came from rhythm and blues music and such.
Music is amazing, and it is something that can transcend time, and go forwards and backwards in time. People are doing things with music right now that never would have been dreamed of just a few years before. But you also see many musicians playing older styles of music, and also looking for vintage instruments and a vintage recording sound!
I think and hope that music will just keep progressing, while still remembering where it came from.
