Hi Hat Notation, need HALP!

Hey guys, simple question that I'm stuck on:

When writing hi hat notes, how would you notate that you want the hi hat to be continually played open? I know I can probably just put a bunch of "o"s over the hi hat "x"s, but is there any better way? Thanks.

just write regular "x"s then just make a note that says open, just off in the margin, thats what i do, i do it all the time for open hats, ride and crashes. or just take the time and write the circle around the "x"s.
