Hi,
Many of you may record yourself when you practice. What type of devices are you using and what's the cost? I hear the Zoom H2 is a great recorder but do I need to spend that much money?

Thanks for your feedback.

OK I guess I'll reply to myself.

I bought the Zoom H2. It was advertised in Modren Drummer by Peter Erskine. Seems simple enough to use and has some nice options for sole recording or recording the whole band.

I will use it to record my practice sessions as well as my band performances. Now I will see where I really need to work on my playing or over playing.

Zoom H2 FTW!

It's a handy little tool, good quality. I keep it in my pocket to record live gigs.

Zoom H2 as well. Unbelievable quality from such a little device.

Thanks Trip. I ordered it but have yet to receive it. Is it easy to use? Maybe I can pick your brain when I get it.

Thanks

It's easy. Just hit the record button twice to make it go.

Well I received my Zoom H2,after a trial run (helps to press the record button twice :-) I played along to some tracks minus drums and the recorder sounds great, I wish I could say that about the drummer! But that's why I bought it right?

I wish I had done this years ago, what a valuable tool and a great way to improve your playing. I played a variety of material and some was better than others and I think once I have the arrangements down the playing will be much better but boy the ears don't lie.

Great purchase. Once I get a tune down I may put it on here for your feedback.

I use the 2-gig yamaha Pocketrak. It was expensive but it makes extremely good recordings.
