hey guys im new to this so b nice...

i recently got back into drums and thought ide get into e-drums, and ended up getting a yamaha dtxpress 4 special, which suited the price range at the time. i used to play a bit of double kick too so i purchased the iron cobra jr pedal which seems to b fairly solid but im struggling with getting clean triplets using heel toe, which im only just starting to learn mind u. i dont have huge feet but am finding my toes are scrunched up on the foot plate to try and get enough power for the second hit, before using my left foot for the third. i wasnt sure if the bass drum trigger wasnt perfect with picking up the beats or not? and maybe i was thinking of updating to some axis pedals for easier play??

Hi,
The ic jr will work fine. You can play heel-toe with half of your foot behind the pedal. In fact, find the leverage point (about 2/3-3/4) up the pedal and go back from there.

Heel-toe is played simply by rocking the foot forward after the downstroke. It's not about covering the pedal with your foot.

The additional thing is that at the leverage point, that's also where you play heel-up. Putting your toes all the way forward (IMO) is never a good idea, since the foot isn't at the fulcrum.

thanks for that

when i play heel up, i have my foot on the fulcrum point, but when im playing (or trying to play) heel toe i slide my foot further up the board as it tends to generate more power. when i have my foot lower i dont seem to get any real sustainable power and fluency. maybe ile just have to keep at it. ile let u know how i go though
