hey guys,
i have finished working on Jim Chapins Advanced Techniques for the Modern Drummer with my teacher and he suggested I now look into buying one of Joe Cusatis' books : Rhytmic Patterns and Rudimental Patterns. If anyone has used these books or advice on which one to get i would greatly appreciate any info you can give me.

If your goal is Jazz. I suggest the John Riley books about bop drumming.
If you goe for rudiments, the RItual of Rudiments Alan Dawson.

My two cents.-

Joe Cusatis's book great for all styles....very good for the development of fills. Work the book as written single notes..then do as doubles...Denis

Yes, get Joe's book! Fantastically helpful. It is one of the books I have had the most fun with and you will quickly get the experience of "flying" on the kit!

Edit: on my website, I have a couple of videos of exercises from the book so you can get an idea. A LOT of fun to play and very applicable!
