seeing as they are a north american custom drum maker, and (assuming you are correct) there are not any material options, i would be very surprised if they were not north american rock maple.

Keller VSS Maple it the standard.
they also offer birch, mahogany, stave, acrylic and others upon request!

SJC uses keller maple shells as their primary shell type. They also offer birch, hybrid shells, steel, and any other type of wood stave shell (they have a great distributor) that you could ask for in any finish that you could ask for. Great company for sure.
