Vintage Pearl Free Floating snare wire installation problem

for my recently purchased Free Floater, I've been having trouble installing the snare wires so that it can touch the reso head. Right now it seems like I'm hitting a snare with no snare wire cause the snare wire doesn't really touch the reso. I think the trouble is that there's no snare bed on the bottom of the Free Floating frame. I know there's a lot of you guys out there that use a Pearl Free Floating snare drum but right now the snare is just not working for me. Can someone give me some advice in how to make the snare wire properly installed?

Hi i have a FF and was just doing research about new snare wires. I think they have purpose built snare wires as my local drum shop had a product description that stated they had snare wires for th Free floater so i guess you have to buy specific ones?hope this helps
