i believe this is a 70s snare, but someone threw a Ludwig throwoff on it
14x5
as you can see, there's a bit of pitting on the shell...

any idea on value?

thanks>

Looks to be a steel-shelled Premier snare. If it was in pristine condition (original throw-off, no pitting, etc...) then it would be worth about $120, and maybe sell for about $75-$90 nowadays. In the condition it's in, I wouldn't expect someone to pay more than $75 for it. It's a great sounding snare (I have one), but it's not worth as much as it should be for the sound...

I've seen these sell locally for around $80, and NOT sell for $100.

I wouls take it apart, get some Never Dull and clean it up. Then keep and enjoy it.

I am sure it has to sound great.

is there any snare you could compare this one to?

i'm thinking of selling it and putting the money + pocket cash towards a Chad Smith for $150. but if i can get a good sound and crack out of my Premier, close to the Chad Smith quality, i may as well keep it!
