NYC trip soon, what drummers to see?

I'm going to be in New York City for the first time from Dec. 2nd to Dec 5th. I'm looking to see if any of you know of some surefire places to catch some killer drummers during my stay. I'm mainly looking for some nice intimate places that are really laid back. As much as I'm into hard rock, I think it would be cool to sip on some drinks listening to some incredible bop, or jazz. I'll be staying in SoHo in case some are nearby. Although, I could search the web and cross reference dates and artists, I figured I would utilize the brethren DW community. Who better than NYC drummers to guide me to see NYC drummers? Thanks in advance.

If you go to any of the main jazz venues in NYC, (Village Vanguard, Jazz Standard, Blue Note, Iridium, Zinc, Birdland, Linclon Center, you're sure to see some killin' players, just be prepared to shell out $40 covers.

Some drummers that I would look out for are Matt Wilson, Ari Hoenig, Kieth Carlock, Jeff Ballard, Victor Lewis, Bill Stewart, Jeff "Tain" Watts, Brian Blade and Quincy Davis.
