So I'm interested in the acrolite, heard there good around here, and I was wondering if you could help me identify these as hopefully it. Theres also a Chad Smith sig for 80 but I dont think there as versatile. Also, any opinions about acrolites or anything welcome. Thanks.

The first drum looks OK but can't really tell from photo. The second drum does not look like new. Its pitted and dirty. Leave that one alone.
Take some sticks and a drum key with you and check it out.

OK, let's see if I can push the right buttons this time. I was trying to quote your post but it didn't turn out the way I planned (!). . .Yes, the drums in your pictures are Ludwig Acrolites! T they're different from the earlier models in two distinct ways: They have a Black Galaxy finish applied to the shell, and they're fitted with 2.3mm hoops. The older ones (like the 1967 model that I own) have 1.6 mm hoops and a "natural metal" finish. In any case, you should definitely get one because they're great "workhorse" drums for nearly any style of music (and they're cheap!). IMO, the $90 drum looks better, but the $85one comes with a case, and you could clean it up easily, so it's a little more of a bargain.
Hope this helps you out!

Let your ears be your guide. Either drum should not disappoint you, for under $100.
