Can anyone please help me on this one, I have Gretsch & Ddrum kit that the RIMS mounting system gets in the way on most clip on clamps. The space between the bottom of the die cat hoop to the top of the RIMS is about 1/2" Any thoughts on this problem.
thanks

Are you really using RIMS (trademark for Gauger Resonance Isolation Mounting System) or one of the many copycats/OEM versions? I use genuine Gauger RIMS mounts and I have plenty of room for clips.
In any case, you should make your own clips with items such as velcro, chip clips, small hardware clamps, etc. That's the only way to guarantee something will work.

I've found that the mic-eze brand clips fit onto the rim over rims-style mounts. I currently just clamp my LP claw mic holder to the rims mount itself.

Yuck, I've been in and out of many drum clips on the market and I don't like any of the ones I've used. Save up and get a bunch of mic stands, much more versatile, much easier to position, you won't regret it. I wish I had done that years ago.
