Oh, I forgot:
"Strawberry Fields Forever" - The Beatles
The greatest pop song ever written.
Edit: I just had to put this up. Brilliant writing, brilliant playing, brilliant production. The most creative use of recording technology I've ever heard. The greatest pop song ever. Still light years ahead of anyone else:

Okay, this is going to sound really stupid, but I always enjoyed being in a bar when over the house system would come "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" by (cough) Elton John.
Other guilty pleasures:
"Time of the Season" - The Zombies, I think.
"You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" - The Righteous Brothers
"Summer in the City" - The Lovin' Spoonful
"Good Lovin" - Young Rascals
(That's three lovin's in a row.)
And almost any Frank Sinatra (particularly the Nelson Riddle stuff.)
And almost anything by the Beatles.
And many others, all feel good pop music.
Hell yeah I'm an old fart! You young guys go write songs like that! It ain't easy, you know...except maybe for the Elton John one.
