Remo emporer smooth whites

Just tried these heads on my Gretsch Cat maples on a recommendation from one of my buds at Interstate music's retail store.. I have to say that they offer the sound (attack, and low end presence) I had been looking for..bye-bye Evans. ...well I still use a EMAD for the kick.

I used to use the smooth whites for a long time, and got a lot of compliments. A nice punchy attack with a good balance of low end resonance. I like them a lot. Lately I've been leaning towards the bright single ply head sound, I use clear ambassadors over clear ambassadors, but for a 2 ply head, the smooth whites (over clear ambassadors) have my vote.
