I just got an awesome pdp mx maple drums and the heads that came on the pdps are remo single ply heads. They sound great but i played that same kit with evans ec2 heads and they make it sound 2x better. So im thinking ec2s on the toms, maybe an evans genera hd dry head on my snare. And an evans emad on the kick drum. Tell me what you guys think, if you have any thoughts, comments, or suggestions.

I run Remo coated ambassadors over clear ambassadors and the sound is amazing. As for the snare I use the head you described. I also have used the evans revers dot head. Remo ambassador and emperor x. Ive watched so many snare tuning vids you couldnt imagine. still couldnt get a great sound out of that drum.
