This was posted on another site. But since I also lurk here, I posted this here as well.
I have restored 4 different models and vintages of Slingerland snare drums.
I like them all and they all have their own unique sound character. Check 'em out and let me know what you think.
The recording is quite primitive, but not terrible.

1. 1965(ish) 5x14 Krupa Brass

I've got one like the last one but it's only 5.5" deep. Great stuff for that vintage sound...

I dig the 5x14 brass, myself.
Both brass drum sound alike, but the deeper one has more bottom end (of course). They both sound unbelievable when playing with a band.
I love those two Krupa drums. So much tone and sensitivity.
