First: What bass drum technique (double and single bass). Is it better to learn a special technique, like the slide technique, or should I keep on playing heels up?
My second question is about the push pull technique: When doing this push-pull movement, should I move only my wrist, or the whole arm?

Whatever technique you use on the kick drum, try and keep the heel up, so you can use the power of your entire leg to make the stroke.
You should involve your arm in the push-pull movement, since it is connected to your wrist.

the push pull is the free stroke but instead of allowing the stick to make one stroke you use your bottom three fingers to push the stick down for another stroke. Once you have the double motion down you can use both hands together to create a double stroke roll. To beef up the roll you can apply extra momentum with your wrists and arms. Play in germanic grip first. Thats the best way to get the free stroke going. With my bass drum I use the heel toe technique for doubles, triples, and quads and can switch from heel up to heel down whenever I wish. This allows me to alter how loud I want the bass drum to sound. I feel that heel down has the most control especially when I am doing singles between my hand and foot. When it comes to double bass, I am slowly getting there... I really dont use it to much.
