I finally was able to watch them the other day. I had to do this on my father`s PC because mine is a weak auxiliary computer which always crashes when I want to watch some bigger Quicktime videos. :-D

Thanks for sharing Etienne, I actually was surprised when I listened to Bill`s soli. Generally they are a lot more forte and rawer than others I`ve listened to so far.
I love his unique style and way of playing definitly, a big influence for me personally.

Though I`d like to hear him with a piano trio or something with piano in general.

Overall I`m simply thankful that Bernhard posted these, listening to him, Michael, Pat and Larry is always a pleasure!

Do you have a preference for piano trios too ?
I do.

I think it has something to do with all instruments beeing acoustic

I don`t think I actually prefer a setting with piano.
I love to listen to musicians like Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Peter Bernstein, Kurt Rosenwinkel etc.

Though generally I listen to a lot more piano than guitar settings and I`m happy to be in a piano trio setting. It stays that classy sound for me. =)

Nevertheless it might always depend on the particular musician and this might still be the most important factor.

Etienne,

have you already listened to this year`s Modern Drummer festival samples? Bill was there...and hehe...he played with piano, sax and bass.
That was such a pleasure for me to hear him with piano etc.

I just know him playing with guitar, organ, sax, trumpet and bass actually.

I think I`m gonna get the DVD, generally it was such a great line-up this year.

Hi !

yes I have seen those videos

I like the odd grouping phrases he does

He seems to do alot of 7 note groupings
