Does anyone know of any advanced drumming dvds or books that you could recommend.
I've bought a few dvds in the past like Jojo Mayers 'Secret Weapons', Steve Smiths dvd and both Gavin Harrisons dvds and I just fancie checking out some more advanced material.
Thanks

You can go as far as you like with Syncopation and Stick Control.

Have you bought Tommy Igoe "Groove Essentials w/ play along supplement". Some of it's part is very advanced.
Then there's always Thomas Land DVD if you want to improve your feet.

This is a great book for jazz coordination - very challenging. Sort of a New Breed for jazz.

Listen to Grunter's and Wave's advice. One of the most advanced things you will ever play is, for instance, a paradiddle and having it sound like you are playing it with one hand, perfectly smooth. Or a single stroke roll where every note is crisp, satisfying, and clean.
In the studio, or on the road, that is what counts. No amount of "advanced material" is going to help you.
And, of course, Difficult S#@t is fun to play, so knock yourself out. Just remember that the real gold is in those elementary things.....

Thanks for the advice. I have perfected the paradiddle and single strokes around the kit in solos which I perform in drum clinics but I'm just interested in new concepts and solo ideas. Like the application of rudiments and Hybrids around the kit. I purchased Jeff Queen Playing with sticks but it hasn't arrived yet. I'm hoping that will inspire me on the snare and around the kit. Thanks for your advice though it is much appreciated.

Take a look at Gavin Harrison's "rhythmic Illusions" book. Mad time-bending modulations and rhythmic displacements. Great!

Pat Petrillo's package "Hands, Grooves, & Fills" has helped me tremendously..The hand exercises and combinations are challenging, and you can see some GREAT Fills concepts, and tons of grooves with play alongs..Top shelf.
Gavin Harrison's stuff is very challenging in a polyrhythmic sense for sure.

You could transcribe your favorite drum solos... Most advanced material is as close to you as your own music collection.

A couple of books I've breifly checked out that were killers is Gary Chester's New Breed and Gavin Harrison's Rhythm Illusions....
It was hard enuff with Chester's book to play the systems and read with your limbs but the singing becoming a 5-way coordination voice had me seeing stars...got too fustrated with that one and moved on....
Gavin's book deals with modualtions & beat dispalcement and for me it was a complete brain teaser and pretty much had me bangin my head against the wall also...
Soooo if you can handle those two books my hat goes off to you sir....

I have got Gavin Harrisons Rythmic visions dvd and rythmic horizons and I have mastered at least 90% of his techniques and am applying them to my own playing. Never seen Gavins book before or New Breed so I might have to purchase them and see if it explains some of the bits I'm stuck on in the dvds a bit better. Thanks I will probably buy that at some point.

Toughest books I've come across so far have been the New Breed II (ridiculous 3 limb-reading studies over some killer ostinatos) and Marco Minneman's Extreme Interdependence (intense pattern permutation and some wicked polyrhythmic layering in very odd time sigs... 13/7, 15/3... COME ON).

I would say two of the greatest books I have ever done are Jim Chapins Advanced Jazz and Technique book. Ans Stick Control, by I cant remember who.
Another is Rythemic Illusions by Gavin Harrison.
