Hello all--

I'm a keyboard player just learning to play drums (I recently bought a Yamaha DTXpress IV "special" electronic drumset for that purpose).

I developed an interest in drumless audio files to practice with, and after downloading and playing to a few of them, thought I would try to make one myself. So as my first attempt I made a drumless arrangement of one of my own compositions. I'm not sure how good it may be as a pratice piece, and I know it will not be to everyone's taste (it's genre is "fusion" I guess--don't really know) but here are the audio files in OGG and MP3 format, for anyone who may be interested--

OGG-Vorbis compressed audio

And for those who prefer MP3

Best wishes all. And if any of you record a drum track for this, I would surely love to hear it. :-)

Nice stuff, and thanks, I'll post a video sometime in the future with me drumming to it.

I created a MIDI file to record the initial data in several tracks, and then played those tracks back to record the audio. However, it's not a "General MIDI" file, so it would sound--all screwed up--if played on a computer or any tone generator set to GM, XG or GS.

The only way it would sound OK is if the MIDI data were sent to a Roland Fantom XR set to "Performance" mode (multi-channel mode).
