Hello,

I currently own a DW 5000 hi hat stand and just love it to death. What I like best, oddly enough, is the velcro on the bottom of the base plate. It just stays in place perfectly.

That said, the new band I am playing is going to require double bass playing. I sold my DB pedal over a year ago. It was a pearl eliminator and I did like it. But, I have always had significant problems with the slave pedal sliding.

If the DW 5000 (or 8000/9000) have velcro on the bases, I may go that route.

Thanks for any input you may have.

Mike

My DW9000 came with some but as i have done on my other pedal - buy some and stick it on.

Go to your local hardware store and pick up some of the industrial velcro, the adhesive is rock solid on it! That way you can have a pedal you love without having to settle because of velcro.

I use Velcro by the yard. It's great for all sorts of stuff. Just put some on yourself.

The 5000's currently come with 3 strips of velcro on each pedal.

I have 2 DW 5000 double pedals both have the Velcro.

I have to say if money is an issue check out the 7000. Looks great and over $100.00 less ;-)

You can buy Velcro at home depot and the DW 5000 series is the way to go as it has a great feel and is as common as a bellybutton, hence you can repair and find parts easily!
