is there such a thing? i've been looking for drumless big band tracks (swing). always thought it would be awesome. anyone know any? :D

If you search on google, you can find big band songs in MIDI format and take the drums out.

Apparently it's got some terrifying charts in it. Seems like a good workout.

You could go MIDI, but that can get on your nerves sometimes. I think this one is a well recorded first-rate big band.

Steve Houghton's book "Essential Styles" comes with a play-along CD, I'm pretty sure there are a few big band type tunes.

I wouldn't call them terrifying. I'm playing Samba Del Gringo with my Jazz Band and after listening to the recordings a good 3 times and marking my part, I can play through it with 90% accuracy, I'd say. If you're looking for something TERRIFYING, try the Dave Garibaldi workout books.... holy crap!
