hey all,

here's something i recorded just for fun a couple of minutes ago and wanted to share with all you guys. it's a very good flowing song, so i thought it might be nice to record a quick play along just to get off my mind and ears from the project (the mix) i have been working on. ears get fatigue too quickly. :)

i am using (some of you may be familiar with my gear at home from the thread i have posted to the "your gear forum") a yamaha dtxplorer and ezdrummer's nashville kit. it is just a rough balance between the mp3 import of jewel's "only one too" and the midi drum channel and you will notice of some licks sound like i play too much (hears a little like messed up, combined with the background drum track of the original song) cause i have not practiced those to be precise. some of them you would notice at the end of the song.

hope you all like it. have fun. comments are deeply appreciated.

p.s. the dominant drum sound is me playing. kind of coming from the left. i started playing after the first measure deliberately so a first listener would not confuse the original sound with the one that i have played.

hey! thank you very much for the nice comment. well i guess the biggest problem soundwise with using triggered samples is the hat sound. i normally compress the hats to give a warmer and more realistic feel. (a suggestion from a recording pro) to record actual acoustic hats and use the sound replace function with midi or play the whole groove from the start to the end and double the sound using them with the samples and expand the frequency to overcome the artificial or synthetic sound could be another option.(that one is also recommended by a recording pro. hey i am just a drummer but knowledge and experience are always welcome)

cheers!
