well, you were in time, sitting on a kitchen chair and moving around very fast. Even though I really like metal usually I didn't like this. So I guess you did allright but you make me feel stressed with your style of drumming.

What is it about my style of drumming that made it stressed out??

I guess it's the part where you hammer on your drums as if there was no tomorow. It's metal, ok, but I think you should try play a little bit more controlled, it's almost hurting me inside the way that you are hitting those poor A-Customs, they won't last long like that.

Other than that it's good, seems like you're having a good time.

I do look tense when I play songs like that, I've been playing for about 5 years now and I still seem to tense up on faster songs, I dont know how to change that though, I stretch alot and do plenty of weight and cardio exercise outside of drumming. Maybe its how I hold my sticks? shit I dunno...

Man,

That was GREAT!!!

Ignore the criticism. I loved that you were banging the crap out of your drums!!!! That is what you are supposed to do when playing Battery.

I used to play that song, but never as well as you did!

Post more videos!!! I really enjoyed your playing

I understand what the other guys are saying, it does look like in a way you're about to break them and how you're so tense with it but I'm just assuming it looks like you're hitting it harder than you actually are?

But overall, that's a damn good cover and I gotta say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep up the good work, I'd love to see more if you got.

You play like a weightlifter. By that I mean you rely too much on muscle and not enough on technique. Look at Dave Lombardo play compared to Lars. Dave is much smoother and he doesn't look like he's working as hard when he plays. He sounds smoother too.

The answer is not in the weight room but in the practice room.

Peace

I think it looked and sounded great. Yeah, you looked tensed and focused. I think if you played this a hundred times you would be much looser. This is a demanding song to play so it's expected you would be tense unless you have played it many, many times.

It was good, but it were better if you could play a little bit softer,...I think you played very hard,...And it was a real copy from this song,...

It was good ,...keep it heavy ,...

aww shucks. This site rules, I get all sides y'know? I see some people here say hitting hard is great and some say its not. My A-customs dont last long since I hit them so hard it is true...but its just that they sound so damn good when I smash 'em! I dont know what else to do!

Maybe buy some Z customs or Paiste Rude cymbals, very thick and loud.

I think you did a great job with that song, it was flawless note for note through the whole thing all the fills everything. As far as technique goes, you could def use a little more of your wrists, BUT BUT I will say that if I closed my eyes I would not have known that you were playing and lars was not. I thought it was great.

Check out some posts on the Moeller Technique, great for power playing you use half the energy.

great job keep rockin out brutha!

That was good but blimey! I do feel sorry for your your cymbals lol.
IMO, there is no point hitting them that hard as they can only produce so much volume and hitting them so hard isn't going to make them louder.
As the others said, try loosening up and also, try to play 'across' your cymbals rather than 'through' them.
You do not have to hit that hard to get the full sound out of your kit and you will save alot of energy.
Never the less, well played.

exactly, some songs are slow and ment to be played quiet, but this song deserves to break some skins, sticks, cymbals, arms and legs when you play/listen to it.

I understand about hitting softer but I gotta say from experience...depending on the song it does sound better when you hit hard. Even when I think Im hitting pretty hard I always try to hit harder and it sounds bigger and better! Though it depends on the song,,,,I've tried alot of different lines of cymbals but A customs sound awesome when I give them alot of force, AND they sound amasing on really soft songs when I want alot of depth and reasonance from them. Just sayin..
