This is one of the takes i did while recording my bands e.p...this track is from our song titled "beat'em to the punch"...this drum track is not the one that is going on the e.p since the sound quality wasnt amazing and the mics overloaded at some points...since then take i have rerecorded the drum tracks...i've been playing for a year and a half but this is not my highest level of play...my band has a keep it simple attitude about the drums but non the less tell me what u think of it...quality wise and my chops...thanks guys hope u enjoy...oh and the drums dont come in until about 10 secs or so...

Thanks...the snare is an acrolite from the early 80's the sound is amazing...but unfortunately its low phat sound doesn't cut through the guitars well on recordings

about the sound...i think it was great...
Toms - they had a great, open, warm sound..just like toms should be! =)
Snare - great sound also, sticks out, but in a good way!
Kick - same as snare, sticks out, but in a good way...very boomy and nice!
Cymbals - Mixed very well, dont overpower anything, and they sound good also!
over all, once agian, very nice!

is that the Acrolite in the recording?
what mics were you using?

Yes its the acrolite in the recording...and i used just a bunch of random vocal/instrument mics i had in my bands practice space....i think these are the mics we had...PG57, 2 PG58's, 1 PG48, SM48, One large diaphragm condenser, and two super old no name brand microphones...The setup i believe was the 57 on the kick...a 58 for the two rack toms...the SM48 on the floor tom....the snare was picked up by the rack tom mic as well but we put one of those no name mics right over the snare and the snare became more clear...the cymbals were picked up by all of the mics already set up due to strategic positioning and the hi hats had the condenser picking them up...i know what a piece of shit way to record but hey it worked and the sound is great
