... and they ROCK!

Just recorded a short thing to test GarageBand on my new MacBook witch I bought this week.
Garage Band is so easy to use and a great software.

I used my Mapex Pro M kit, Zildjian K Custom/A Custom/A series cymbals and a Ludwig SupraPhonic 402 snare drum.
A Behringer Xeney 1202fx mixer and samson mics on snare and bass and 2 overheads.

Thanks for listening and please comment.

What did you use to go from the mixer to your mac? I have a mac equipped with garage band as well. I would like to utilize it in a similar fashion but I do not know what I need to run any type of signal into my mac. I know about mixers and the like. I guess I just need to find the right cable or middle man that turns it into a digital feed for the usb port. Thanks a bunch.

Oh yeah, the recording sounds really good by the way. Nice mix and balance between everything, especially for the simplicity of your mic setup.

Thanks,

I just used the cheapest way, a jack cable from my mixer headphone output to the mic input on my mac. I donīt have the money for a audio interface to record with. Sounds pretty good that way, but not as good as it would with a audio interface.

Thank you and I really recommend this snare it sounds much better than on this clip. I had on it Remo coated ambassador batter and the head that came with as a reso, tune fairly high I think.

How many mics did you use on this mix?? I would like to try this since my m-audio usb mixer has some issues.
And is the final result on one track on garage band?
I found a Behringer model one upgrade from yours for 129.00 with a USB connection that I will be ordering after
Christmas. Thanks for posting this.
As for the sound, great. You need a little work it seems on timing but that will come. I need help also.

I really like the sound you got with that equipment. Going into my mic in on my laptop (sony, not mac), It doesn't sound nearly as good. I get a pretty loud buzz/hum. What specific models are you using for mics?

Thanks,

I use these mics: http://www.fatheadmusic.co.uk/custom/images/products/7-piece.gif Samson Q 7 mic kit.
The snare mic, bass drum mic and the two overheads. I didnīt have enough preamp inputs on my mixer for the toms, so I left the overheads to deal with them.
