I've been thinking recently that I'd really like to go into teaching someday, or some kind professional work related to the drums, and that got me thinking about taking a drumming course of some kind.

Has anybody on the board studied any drumming courses in London or the rest of the UK? How much benefit did you get out of the course and would you say it's a worthwhile endeavor? I've only been drumming for 2.5 years, by the time I come to take the course it'll be around 3.5 years.

There are some one year drumtech courses on offer around london, most seem to cost around 4-5k for a year of full time study such as this one here:

That's the kind of course that I've been looking at.

We have a few things here in the US that I think are very similar. We have Musicians Institute and LA Music Academy to name a few. Both of these are fantastic. You eat, breath and sleep your instrument. You are totally immersed in it. I have friends that have done it ans say it was one the best experiences of their lives.

Well that does sound amazing I gotta say, I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to break into the professional side of drumming...but a year of pure drumming sounds like a heck of an experience! So nobody here has done one of these courses in london?
