I really like that groove and the whole bit. However, I don't want anything attached to my leg (or anything else for that matter). I like the thought of walking in, sitting down, playing the gig and walking out.
Looks to me like a Remo composite djembe, or something very similar.
Very cool jam.

I can't get to the video from my computer here, but I will say that they make some pretty huge djembes. Djembe ensambles have them in multiple sizes, and they get quite large. So, just becaues it's huge doesn't mean it's not a djembe.

This dude has a sweet groove going for him!! Loved the video. Looks like a mechanically tuned djembe to me.

That is a big Djembe. I saw shakerleg a couple of times when visiting my brother in NYC. I have his bussiness card. My brother bought one of his CDs for me for christmas. Cool stuff to listen to.

yeah, big djembe, it is mechanically tuned and most likely a synthetic skin. A few companies make them these days, a lot lower maintainence than the traditional djembe not least when you want to tune them.
they're good, but i can't help prefer the traditional style. Probably not for any good reason.
The tape on his hands is just a bit of support for his joints.

It does look like a Remo djembe. African dancers commonly wear those shakers on their ankles but it's good to see a drummer take advantage of them also.
Really good playing and a great fusion of trap set and ethnic percussion. Bongodoggie sometimes posts here and he has a similar setup, but without cymbals as I recall.
