Apparently this occurred on the 25th of June. Johan was 43. He will be missed by us and the musical community at large. I regret that I never was able to ask for the modifications I wanted and now it is too late. He was always friendly and helpful and possessed that unique artisans touch that few can claim to have and even fewer put to good use. A sad loss.
EDIT: Apologies for getting the date wrong.

Agreed. I too regret not getting around to shipping him some old pies. He was a talented cymbalsmith, and really created some fabulous cymbals from blank anvils.

It is very shocking news. I never talked to Johan on the forum but we were really blessed to have such a talent and his vast knowledge of cymbals on the forum, and to be able to communicate with him. He will be missed.

Thats really sad and unexpected news. Johan was hugely talented both in his art of making incredible cymbals and also as a drummer.
Here is a video of his playing he posted some time back. Not only did he hammer those cymbals but that snare was his own work too!
