My setup consists mainly of Tama and Mapex, while the remaining Mapex is soon to be replaced by Tama, piece by piece. Cymbals are mainly Zildjians (Armand, Avedis, A-Custom) with a Sabian I hold on and some Paistes.

Very nice, I'm a big fan of large kits. They are just so much fun to play, so many sounds and colors. I usually strip mine down to 4 or 5 pcs just to work on basix, fundementals and rudiments, but when plaing live I like the extra drums for the additional sounds.
Again, very nice looking set.

thanks. yes, I do enjoy a big set very very much. it's just so limitless. it's just my way of playing drums.
if I'd have the space I would even add a 15" and 18" floortom, but the room is not big enough. by the way out of sight is my selfmade gongtom.

by the way, from this angle it looks much more cluttered than it really is. from a bird's eye view it is more straighten.

It's a little obvious, but hey that's not a bad thing. Homemade gong drum huh? Sounds interesting. Any pictures? Was it an old bass drum or did you start from scratch with a bare shell?

it was of course deliberate in some ways to have this a bit looking like simons set, but having this setting up that way felt very natural to me, I don't mind it. and the cymbals are of course differently placed - plus: I don't play open handed.

yes, the gongtom is made of an old bassdrum, but the sound is not yet exactly what I wish. I have to work on those edges. I use a remo emporer head with it, the only 2ply head with the rototoms on my set...

just added a Zildjian Avedis China Boy High 16", very, very nice!!!! (it is pretty hard to get over here in Europe)
