Im shooting a music vid tomorrow, and it will be my first time doing so. Does anyone here have any experience with this? The producer/director had asked me to learn the song at 75 % and at 150%, for reasons i don't really know. But it wasn't hard since i've been playing the song for so long now. However I just wanted to see if anyone had any advise or stories for me on this.. thanks

I don't understand what you mean. 75% and 150%? My only advice to you is to switch out the heads on your new Tama, because I think those stock heads have ugly written all over all them. : )

hah yeah unfortunately i haven't been able to. But i will soon. By 75 and 150% what I meant was the tempo of the song. He wants me to play it faster and also slower... I think he wants to create some effects.. we'll see how it turns out.

By playing the video at 75% and 150%, you can get some cool visual effects.
i.e. If you play it at 75%, then speed up the video to match the tempo of the audio, you'll look like you're moving faster than you actually are. A lot of metal bands to this, it gives the effect of flying around the kit.
i.e. at 150%, you'll have to slow it down to match the tempo of the audio. This will make you look like you're moving slower than you actually are. You'll be hittin the cymbals and drums in time with the music, but your hair will move more slowly in the wind, your crashes will vibrate more slowly, etc.

Ah this explains it. Interesting. Music videos nowadays are so involved and complicated...

One thing i'm learning from this ( I'm on the pc at the studio..) It takes A LOT of time. I still haven't sat behind the drums yet, but its definitely a new and good experience. After this is all done on wednesday I'll share my thoughts about everything...
Again if anyone has any input for this its all welcome ;-) thanks
