i have only been drumming about six months and up until last month was only using my roland v drums but i have just invested in a real kit.

my yamaha 9000 recording

Nice kit my good friend. I believe the Roland V Drum to be a real kit. Maybe you might entertain yourself and make a hybrid. Thats real fun. Cheers.

The Roland is rather nice, but that 9000 is a really beautiful kit. Top quality drums - some of the best you can buy, regardless of age. Well done.

I can't give you anything too specific, but I think your kit is probably a late 80's or early 90's. That's based on the mounting hardware (direct onto the shell) and the badges. But I'm not certain. It's definitely not one of the newer ones.

i know its an older kit thats for sure but i have heard of sites where you cand date the drums etc ?

I'm no yamaha expert, but you could always contact Yamaha with pictures of the drums/badges/serial no.'s and see what they say. You could also send in a picture to Modern Drummer or another publication who could contact Yamaha to answer your question.
