it's a vintage mid 60's (i believe) zildjian ....i have a set of 15" hats to match it.....the other two toms are stacked behind it...no real need for them, but i'm sure i'll use them sometime or another...

Awesome set man, and I agree, don't sell the drrums, 5 or 6 mos down the road you'll wish you hadn't. I have a 4 pce set that I keep at a practice space, a 6 pce ddrum that I keep set up at home and a 7 piece Gretsch that I play out or record with that stay in road cases between gigs.

Extra sets save a lot of work if you have em. Congrats again, they look great!!

Welcome to the Gretsch, and the Gretsch Renown Clubs. Mine are the same color and sizes, although I'm using all of the toms. You will be very pleased I'm sure. congrats on your purchase and for using that company discount. At my job I get 20% off of my lunch. I need to eat 20% less.

a friend of mine had two gigs with different bands one night in april and set up his two drumkits at the different venues. all he had to do was drive there. it was funny though, seeing him play for 8 hours straight.

Nice deal! These are some really great drums, and they're set up beautifully. They look great with the blackrolite.

ahhh man you're very lucky! I've seen and heard those drums. With proper heads and tuning they're just perfect. And the finish... It's beautifull!

love the finish on the gretsch. Am slowly coming round to the renown.

Anyone else think the badges on new Gretsches let them down. Its the only thing bout the renown's i dont like:

die cast hoop - check
nice finish - check
made well - check
silver sealer - check

rubbish badge - boo!

Ditto. Everything I love about Gretsch they were able to put into this great mid-range line, but that badge just leaves something to be desired.

I am learning to look past it, it takes a second glance, like, but i'm getting there. To be fair, it aint just Gretsch, most Drum companies now make really cheap looking badges. Premier's latest for the modern classic is dreadful!
