When I went to get a snare for my new kit I got tied up between a Pearl Steel Piccolo Snare or the Jordison Signature. In the end I wound up choosing the Piccolo because it had a nice tight sound to it which was what I look for in a snare drum. I just want to get your reviews and opinions on this. If you were me at the time and had to choose between these two snares, which one would you pick and why? I mean the Jordison snare is one hell of a snare that alot of drummers out there, especially metal drummers out there would like, but the Piccolo has got a nice tight sound to it. Which one would you prefer?

I would have taken the JJ snare, I love the crack of that one! I probably would have bought one by now, but I can bring myself to the level of buying a such a nice sound drum that has big Slipknot S's on it. I also would feel like one of those "JJ is the best OmFG@!" people. I think I might buy one (because they're a great price) and refinish the shell to brushed metal.

Oh, forgot to mention that I don't like piccolo snares, that would have influenced my opinion.

The piccolo is a very nice snare but I've never played the joey jordison so I can't really help you.

But I know one thing, the jordison snare looks HORRIBLE.

Definetly go the Joey snare.

If you want crack and an insane pop, this snare is it.
Don't let the slipknot logos deter you from buying a truly awesome snare.

Also, if your really not keen on the logos plaguing the drum,
Paint over them.
I'm doing this in a few weeks because I cant stand them anymore!

do what ever you want to change the look, but the j.j. sig is cheap and sounds amazing.
