I don't know about the value of the set, I'm not familiar with Ludwigs. I have a friend who is so I'll have him take a look at it.
As for the flag, I can barely make it out in the reflection for the 13" drum but I can't tell exactly.
perhaps ask this person to send you more pictures? Maybe a picture of the bearing edges?

$1000 is a total ripoff. That set goes for around $400 new. The shells are made of "select veneers" (crappy generic wood).

f*ck that guy! Plus, seems like bad deal anyway.
EDIT: I had to remove that flag pic, i was bothered by just the sight of it.

PS: I feel uneasy about even posting that pic btw.
but, i figured you should know what your getting into
first.. Also, check out the sticker on the bass head.
looks suspiciously like a swastika? Or am I imagining things?

Not worth $1000, that's too much.
It looks in good condition, and there's a double pedal...a bunch of stuff.....but it's USED.
I'd say $600-$700 tops as the drums are a real low series.
I won't comment on the nazi garbage....

Seeing that flag makes me sick to my stomach.
And it does look like the one one the pick from the small amount you can actually see.
How anyone can hate that much is beyond my comprehension.

Run, do not walk, away from this deal. For $1K you can get a used pro level kit.

Nope. No deal. No deal.
As I thought: that's the Nazi Naval Flag.

ikillau -- if you're in the NY metro area, I have two used kits I'm looking to sell. Both are in superb condition. One's a Gretch Catalina Birch, the other's a Ludwig Classic maple from 1989-1990. Best of all, I don't have a fascist fetish.
Let me know if you're interested.

That's a terrible price! Don't even consider it...

The only gear that's worth anything from that list are the 17" crash and the kick pedal. If you look around (and ask questions here) for 10 minutes you'll find loads of better deals. Much better. And people who display those icons deserve trade sanctions anyway.

OMG!, what is wrong with out youth? I can not believe an African American would fly a Nazi flag. He just must not understand at all. Very sad

I can't believe anyone would fly a nazi flag. They kind of go hand-in-hand with Klan hoods and Osama Bin Laden bumper stickers. But we digress...

Keep in mind 'Accent' isn't even a Ludwig set, its a 'stencil set', which Ludwig has made for them by a major company (cheaper than Ludwig could make it themselves). As mentioned, a grand can get you a solid, used, quality set.

I agree, you can grab a pro level used kit for that.
Ludwig is one of the greatest names in drums and one of the most collectable, but you want the American made Ludwig.

I have seen a lot of great deals on Craigslist but this isn't one of them.
Also, I think Craigslist prohibits photos of drum sets if the rack toms are closer than 5 inches together and have steepness of less than 70 degrees. Without fail, every drum set for sale on Craigslist has extreme tom angles. What's up with that?

i have to be honest... i rarely ever see deals on drum sets on craigslist..
perhaps its due to my area, but i see deals for other instruments.. guitars,
organs/keys, etc.. but seriously, I usually see some starter kit with a cymbal pack
already beaten up and its listing for 1500.. i'm like. are you serious?
I've had really good luck with ebay, even though i had a few bad experiences,
all in all it's been positive so far.. also browsing classifieds of forums and such 1st.
