Gretsch Drums Catalina Club Mod

thinking about getting this 4 piece set for my first drum set , i've played other sets before particularly pearl export series , just wondering if the Gretesch would be as good sounding as the pearl export and for the price i am getting it used (400) with minor use , is it even worth getting?

Hey the gretsch catalina mod kits are 100 x better than pearl export kits pearls shit buddy compared the gretsch catalina the mini mod kit is so good man i own 1 my self i hope this helps

The mod kit is a decent starter kit. But $400 used? You can get a new one for just a little more than that ($499.99 online at Sam Ash). You might want to go ahead and get a new one or see if you can get a little more off the used one.

This is a great point. The drum shop near me is actually running a sale on them right now, $450 brand new. So, I would tell the owner of the used one that, see what he comes up with. I generally like saving money by buying used, but if you can get a brand new one for $50 more...
