My timbale setup

i play afro cuban music and latin jazz tell me what you guys think / what you think i need to make it better , i know the sticks in the picture are traditional timbale sticks but i really use 5A or 7A sticks but they all broke

Latin percussion aspire timbales ,
and a B8 sabian cymbol i also have a Cosmic precussion timbales which are old and abused , both are 13' in the hembra and 14 ' machos

It's good to see people play this great instrument! Learning the timbales is a great way to develop one's latin skills on the drum kit. Now, a couple of suggestions. It will be easier to move between the mouth and the back of the bell If you turn it to face 3 o' clock(ish). Also, a cha-cha bell would be a good (if not essential) addition to your timbale setup.

I don't think you need to add anything, just play as tastefully as you can. Timbales have an incredible power in an ensemble to add amazing flavor or cause incredible destruction. Use your powers to help the music.

Timbales can add a great flavor to music and are an essential part of the latin percussion ensemble. When I find a set I always play the lick that you always hear on the Sprint commercials just before the music...
