Need some help choosing a set

Hey, i'm new to these forums.

Anyways.
I'm planning on buying a kit without the cymbals (floortom, base drum, snare, tom, tom)
I don't really have any experience with this which is why i'm asking here. So here's my question:

With a budget around 500 (euro's), what should i buy/what would you buy?

Well I'd go with a mapex M birch, but I don't think you'd get any cymbals if you bought that. Better ask in the local drum store :)

Go for something in the Gretsch line, look up a Catalina Maple.

It used to be Pearl, the export, but now their starter sets are just made of plastic and shined to look good.

yeah its cheap mahagony now in the new export kits ,
