Hey guys, I'm playing double bass for several years but lately I just wanted to improve my tecnique and get better/ faster. And while I trained I realized that everytime I start playing my left foot starts on the upbeat (I am right handed so actually I should start with my right foot). I don't know how this developed but I think it's because my body uses the rebound from the first hit to do the regular beats...
And now my problem is: how do I erase this habit and train my foot control?
Thanks very much guys

The answer will be the same by everyone. Start very slowly at 40BPM, and play the right foot on the up beat.

I think he means that he is starting a single stroke roll on the note before the down beat. So instead of playing RLRL he is playing LRLRL or "a 1 e & a" instaed of "1 e & a".

The answer is essentially the same. Start slowly and practice with that right foot starting on the downbeat.

Practise, practise and practise until you can't possibly practise any more.
Then practise some more.

Then practice some more. Take that nome all the way down to an uncomfortably slow speed and stay there for awhile.
