So heres my dilema. I can get a brand new Yamaha Absolute Maple Nouveau 4 piece shell pack for 1800 (or less if i deal with him). I believe they're blue sparkle, sizes 10,13,16,22. These sizes seem wierd but theyre actually what I want, because I only wanted 10 16, but a 13 would be more useful than a 12 because i COULD use it as a second floor...What do you guys think?
I live in Canada so this deal is better than in the U.S. These kits retail for about 4000 at music stores that i've been to for a 5 piece w/ snare.

OPINIONS PLEASE

(This might not be in the right forum, but if you guys push me there could be pictures of it soon so i figured....)

seem a good deal for that kind of yammie moreover if the kit is in an excellent condition. As for the size they are great and probably one of my favorite. 10" up and 13" + 16" down is sounding extremely good with that 3" gap. You could eventually buy somekind of Bop conversion kit and convert your 16" floor tom as bass drum and use the 10" as high tom and 13" as low tom and WHAM you have now a very versatile bop size kit for small acoustic venue.

That's the exact sizes I'm using on my Yamaha Absolutes. Very versatile and the 3" separation works very well. See attached.

I have an Absolute snare, but havent played a set. Is the sound good/worth the money? I've heard some good things, but how do you like them?

3" separation? what does that mean?

3" separation? what does that mean?

Take a guess.

I think those sizes will sound great, but they will look funky. Do you have other options as far as kits?

...the tom diameters are each three inches apart, 10", 13", 16"

...drumming_HD.

That sounds like a pretty good price for a kit such as that. If you do play them as a one up, two down five piece setup, it should work pretty well for you. I would be more into using the 13, 16 as a four piece, but that's just my preference.

Good luck.

I would play them as a four piece primarily, with the option of one up two down. I dont think that would look wierd. Some of my favorite drummers play 10 16. It has been hard for me to find a kit that i like in those sizes, so as far as other options i was going to special order a pearl masters in 22 10 16, but i would have to wait 6 months...and the price difference isnt that much if any. Remember the yammies are new.

My bad, I thought you meant 10" and 13" on top side by side, that would have looked weird.
