Hi, found these pictures from when i refinished an old snare drum last summer. I took the black wrap off, sanded it up and put a base coat on of plain white. I then sprayed some blue sparkle spray paint onto the drum which i picked up from hobbycraft for about £5, and once i had done that, and it had dried, i sprayed lacquer/sealer over the top of it. Anyway, the pictures will probably explain it a bit better than i can, but it gave an old drum a new lease of life aha :)

I'd like to see bigger pics but from what I can tell it looks great! Nothing too special about a black wrap but a nice light blue sparkle has a custom, fresh look. Kudos!

man that looks really cool!
how much of the blue paint did it take to cover the whole shell?
I used the whole of that can of paint to do the whole shell. Only used a bit of the sealer, it didn't need much.

I have a question.
Why do you use a coated head for your snare side head?

I dont know, i dont think its coated, well it is and it isnt. its a wierd one. Ive never used them before it was on the drum when i got it, but i'd intended on changing it but never got round to it. I don't really know much about drum heads to be honest, but it sounds half decent. I had intended on getting a new snare wire too, but thats on the 'to-do list' also.

just noticing
Cause i use a clear batter on one of my snares and i like it when ppl do things differantly.
And wow it looks much better than that picture of the one that it would look like before.
