On Friday 13th (And . . Yes, it lived up to its name) me and the lads (www.mymatekate.com (http://www.mymatekate.com)) had a gig in Nothampton, Billing Aquadrome For one of the biggest american car meets in the country, The AACI Summer Nationals . . .
Everything was Hunky Dory, despite "Download" and the "Isle Of White" festivle starting, not to mention the major fuel protest's all on the same day . . we arrived earlie and began to set up. Cool.
Got all the drums out the bags, positioned, pedals. Then i started to get stands out of the bag only to discover . . NO SNARE STAND ! ! ! ! ! Panic Stations Or What!
Id'e lent it to a freind in Nottingham for his new luddy's and totaly forgot about it! So,
I asked round some of the lads i knew at the meet to see if the knew of any drummers that where local and not Gigging, but it was friday the 13th and of course and i had no joy :-?
But our Very good driver offered to meet my freind somewhere on the M1 (bearing in mind it was now 8:00 and we were on at half nine!) so he put his pedal to the metal.
9:20 came and i was touchin cloth! Big Time! When i saw this van come hurtiling towards me through this camp. an arm came out of the window and passed me the stand! Horrrahhh ;-) So i rushed on stage put the snare on the stand (wiped the sweat of my brow) and gave it 1 almighty flam lol

Anyway, the show went on. The marque was packed, had a great reception and we got paid. Job Done!

Here's a few snaps of the night . . Enjoy
