...Hola dot comrades.

I just picked up a set of used ludwig toms, 12x8, and 10x7 in white silk onyx. These toms had the clip style mounts, which I swapped out for a pair of collar lock mounts that I had in one of my rat piles. These are B/O badge, heavy maple with the rivited seams. The 12" sounds pretty good, but i do not have enough stray 10" heads to get the best out of the 10" yet. I will use the 12 on my franken kit.

Pretty cool Barry. I noticed the 10" tom has a pointy corner badge, and the 12" tom has the rounded corner badge. Any re-rings on the 10"? How about serial #'s or date stamps?
I like the wrap, have fun with them.

...Hola Mendozart.

Not sure what you mean. These both have the rounded badges, but the graphic is pointed. The serial number on the 10" is 2059559, the 12 is 2059272. The 10 also has the mini lugs. No re rings on either tom. I believe that these were probably add ons for a larger sized kit. I should ask Ludwig Von Drum Crazy. He would likely know more about their lineage.

These drums cost me three dozen four ounce Buffalo patties, and I ate two of them.

the ply badges have pointy edges and 6 play have the rounded edges, right?

Nice drums regardless of which ply config they are.

The Luddies I special ordered in 1980 had pointed corners. 6 ply came out in 1976. I also had round corner (no rivets), so my guess would be mid-to-late-80's.

...and what's new is new too.

I just got a phone call from my favorite drum shop regarding the 15x13" floor tom that I had ordered a little over a month ago.

It's here. Not bad turn around time for deedub. I will be heading in to town after work to pick it up.

Pictures at eleven.
