My wife is the greatest!!

Hello everyone,

Well I get home tonight and pull into my garage and I am utterly stunned. For my anniversary, my wife decided to sound proof my garage! It is HIGH quality sound board and absorbs sound extremely well.

So after completely freaking out, I decided to go into my drum room to grab my snare and hit it in the garage to see the difference.

As I walk into my drum room, she had also had that room sound proofed with the same material!

When I finally did get into the garage to bang on my snare, the room was almost completely dry!!!! It used to be an echo chamber! It was so hard to get a good sound. I have band practice 3 times this week (Wed, Thurs and Friday) and I just cannot wait.

My drum room is very dry as well. And, you can hear the bass a lot more. Not so much treble now.

Anyway, I had tears in my eyes. My wife is the GREATEST!!!!!!!

Here are pics of the sound board. My wife is having them painted within the next couple of weeks.

I can sympathise, my wife has been on complete bedrest since Feb 15th, due to a complicated pregnancy, we haven't been able to do anything for 4 months now :(

On the plus side, congrats on the room, always great to have a supportive wife. Mine bought me a set of Gretsch for my B-day in december.

Well, Mikei, you may need to soundproof the bedroom, too. At least after the weapons testing phase is complete.

Good for you for giving your wife props for all her support. My wife suprised me with my kit (which I thought I'd be a widower before I had drums of my own). Lovely ladies, the both of them.

I have 2 kids from a prior relationship, so the pistol used to work. But I am 9 years older and was 50lbs heavier.

I have recently lost 70lbs, so I am more fit. I am hoping that my "count" is much better.

I may not be that great at drum rudiments, but I am pretty well versed in bedroom rudiments. And if I had to choose to be better at one than the other, I believe I have it the right way!!

So far, my GF has gotten me an American Standard Fender Telecaster, Taylor 314CE, Line 6 Spider Valve 212, Gretsch Renown Maples, Zildjian A Customs & very recently(Father's Day), Taylor Made r7 golf irons.

It's a good thing to have such a woman, huh? Continue to cherish her.

I agree!! I get more satisfaction from drumming vicariously through Neil Peart than doing bedroom rudiments vicariously through Ron Jeremy. (My apologies for now making it possible to get results from a forum search for "Ron Jeremy")
