I've come to a point where im starting to do triplets with a single bass drum(barely), but i need some excersises to help me get better at it....I used to do double excersises and i got really god at doing doubles
Also some excersises if anyone has any on how to do quads with a single bass drum, i know it needs practice, i got the time to practice i just need some excersises please
I would rather learn how to do stuff with a single bass pedal than having to come to using a double bass pedal, nothing against it, I'd just rather use a single

Be patient, it'll sometimes take a day for people to respond to a thread.
I'd work on doing straight consecutive notes on the kick, starting slow and eventually building up. Play it all heel up so you get the same volume/intensity for all beats. Practice to a metronome too

John Bonham was an innovator and one of my favorite drummers, but some of the guys playing today have developed foot techniques that we not around when Bonham was with us. Opinions are great but saying 'bonhams got the best right foot" seems a bit short sighted. Sorry, just my opinion.

yup that is the video and after watching that if you still think bonham has the best right foot then your definition of best is wrong lol.
btw im a HUGE john bonham fan so no disrespect but jojo mayer really has the quickest, smoothest right foot "IVE" ever seen

Then wait until you see / hear JoJos' - and find something to hold on to.
Look up Vruk pedal if you want to perform true accented triplets with a single pedal.

An Idea.....
Write out some music, HiHat or Ride on 1/8th notes and snare on 2 and 4.
Then place a 1/16th note triplet on 1 and 3.
Then on the next line place the 1/16th note Triplet on the & of 1, and the & of 3.
Then on the next line place the 1/16th note Triplet on 2 and 4.
You could even get to the point where you play the 234 or the 345 of the sextuplets.
so on and so forth, it's just moving the triplet around but you would get used to putting a triplet in all parts of a measure.
I'm sure you have some double excersizes that do something similar to this.
Anyway, it's just an idea I had. take it or leave it.

did the video help you ? its not the only way to do triplets but its probably the most efficient, if you can get the technique down.

Check out Derrico Watson. He probably has the fastest single foot in the business. And he's a REALLY nice and supportive guy.

Check out Colin Bailey's book - Bass Drum Control. It's got exercises starting with single hits on bass drum in coordination with hands, then doubles, triples... up to eight consecutive hits.

Honestly, I don't do the whole "watch videos of drummers online" thing, because my computer's sound card is screwed up. He plays with Victor Wooten, and I am guessing you can find stuff out there, but I really can't tell you where. Sorry, man!

For triplets with the single bass, look up the swivel technique. Time Waterson has a video on it on youtube. I think its exactly what you are looking for.

Oh how I love to do a 32nd into a crash and I play with just 1 bass no double pedal you can do it like a lot of things through it takes a lot of practice for it too be smooth. I'm a believer in 4-piece kits if you can't. play a 4-piece kit how are you gonna play a 9-piece kit.I like to do more with less.

Hi!
Try this tutorial from Learningdrum.
Here you are switching from doubles to tripplets, to quadrupples.
Learningdrum Education Start (http://www.learningdrum.com/drumeducation.html)
Choose module: Technique, in the left menu
Choose chapter: Bassdrum, in the top menu.
Choose scene: # 5 Ancle Joint Muscle Trainer
If you have any questions about the tutorial you are welcome to post them in
the Learningdrum Drums And Percussion Forum (http://www.learningdrum.com/forum_eng/index.php)
All the best!

Fast licks like quads and "Bonham" triples (sextuplets split between kick & hi-hat in funk rock grooves) are kind of a holy grail for relatively new drummers (I'm not assuming... I read in another thread that you started 10 months ago). I'm gonna give the simple answer here: Play whatever it is VERY slowly. This could be a million different BPM, but I'm just saying the speed at which you can at least almost play it comfortably. Break it apart into small segments, isolate limbs, whatever you need to do to practice. After you can nail it (and that might take a while), start bumping up the tempo. Rinse and repeat... it's pretty time consuming but it works.
