Beaters

hi, have a iron cobra double bass pedal with the beaters it came with and i dont really like them. i've had it for a little while now and i feel that i don't get enough rebound from them. i tried tightening my bass drum head but that didn't really help out either.

any suggestions on what i should use? i play some fairly fast tempo things. i was thinking about using those ball beaters that john blackwell uses. those any good?

Have you tried increasing the tension on your pedal and extending the beater further from the holder? You may be able to solve the problem by just fiddling a bit.

Admittedly I have only once experimented with buying a new beater, I just found that the difference wasn't really worth it for the money I paid...
