OK, I found this rack at a local music store at a good price, so I was wondering before I take the plunge, is this rack right for my setup?

Here's a picture of my setup, this is where I come into conflict:

See, I use my bassdrum to the side, sort of a simulated double bass setup. And by the looks of it, the rack's front legs get in the way of the bassdrum. Perhaps I'm misjudging, but it doesn't look like I can set my kit up the way I want it to.

Advice, please?

That would work for sure. But the first thing I would do is fill in that void on the front of your set. You seem to have a mile of empty space between crashes and you may find it more comfortable with a more compact setup. In that regard the rack may help a bunch.

It looks like it would work, you would just have to shift the rack to the right to accommodate the bass drum. The real issue is ht length of the front pipe. Measure on you kit what you would need then compare.

You really think it could work, GD? As for the empty space, I plan on getting some splashes, but I wanted a solution that didn't involve more stands or adaptors, so when I saw that rack I knew I had found the right thing!

P.D. I can't seem to find the specs for this rack. Does anybody know the measurements?

he is talking about where the bass should be...a huge hole under the toms.
which is huge..lol

I plan on getting some splashes.

This would work perfectly, but at twice the price, is it worth it?

That rack doesn't look very stable, If you're not having any problems with your setup now, save your money and invest in a good rack. But if you really really want it, you will be able to make it work for your setup, just might look a little awkward .

I ran a DR-100 for ten years. The DR-80 is just a scaled down version. Not as heavily built. Jeff Porcaro and Paul Jameson pioneered/prototyped the DR-80 for Pearl. I see you flipped your kick around (to move the tom closer, my guess). And a lefty? So, your first DR side from hi-hat to right of kick, and then both middle and left side in front. That should accommodate your kit, as you now set up. You might want to turn your kick back around and run both rack toms off the rack.

I checked the Pearl site and a bunch of sites and can't find the dimensions anywhere.....sorry.
And I just noticed that you have a left-hand setup with a right handed double pedal. Am I right. I think this is the reason for the big gap.

Oh yeah, well, that's where the other bass should be, but since I use double pedals I have no need for another bassdrum.

Yes, that's what I was thinking about, set the rack at an angle so I can set the toms front and center, which is key in my setup.

No problem, dude, thanks for your help.

And yes, that's why it looks weird, it's kind of a hybrid lefty righty setup, but I play open handed... weird I know.

The DR80 looks like it may work, but I would recommend the Pearl DR-503C, I purchased the DR-503C a while back and I personally wouldn't want any other drum rack, it's sturdy, light, and most of all is easy to adjust and will work in almost any situation.
