Does anyone know where I can get a transcription of the beginning of the Ozzy song "Over the Mountain" ? I thought I saw it once in Modern Drummer.

It's basically just RL foot RL foot at the rate of 16th note triplets. There is also a left foot hi hat going on in there too. I would just transcribe it for you but I don't have a way to do it at the moment. Check Youtube for Randy Castillo demonstrating the pattern. He had a drum vid out years ago where he demonstrated the pattern. Good luck.

The poster below is right. It's just RLF triplets. But you play the snare as I've shown above (I marked snare hits in bold). You play 7 full quarter notes worth before the song starts and Randy Rhodes plays the last quarter (because the intro is two bars of 4/4) with no drums to kick off the song.
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-duhduhduh...
Tommy Aldridge might have played flams for the snare hits in the lick, but I don't have the recording handy. If you want to add the hi-hat, just alternate strokes with the right foot, as if you were playing double-bass, while doing the RLF.
It's really easy stuff, though. You just have to play it strong and with good conviction.
