View Full Version : Show me your Rack!
Alright so im trying to decide if buying a rack is worth the trouble. I like no rack to show off my drums but a rack would be quicker to setup. I would like to see pictures of racks and how drums are mounted to see the configuration possibilieis with different drum rack brands

Here are some before and after of my set with a rack.
I think it was worth the money and the effort. Its cleaner, easier to adjust, and to add pieces.

WOW king!!! Beautiful Ludwigs & RUDES. That's got to be an ear-splitting kit. Not to mention the snare, is that a square size?? It's gotta be deafening.
P.S. We NEED specs.

man king, that kits a monster! Got and specs on it? back to the original topic... I have never though of buying a rack because my kit isnt to big. On the other hand, for bigger kits, I think it would cut down on the amount of stands you take with you. Also it would cut down on set up time.
p.s. like the thread name ...he he he

Before rack:

After rack (similar set up):

My current set up is much smaller, and I only use two bars:

Hope that helps. If you want any specific pics of the Pearl rack, I can gladly take some.

a couple different (though also very similar) setups I've used the rack for.
when I was pricing out this kit, I compared the cost of cymbal stands to the cost of the rack (don't forget you need a clamp for everything you want to mount!) They were close, with the rack coming in a little cheaper. But the real deal is the rack fits in one hardware bag, where all the cymbal stands would have taken two.
Haha....The wood shaving is from my cymbals....Not the toms ! - but I can tell you It's not the easiest playing setup but the toms sounds better when your sticks hit the drum in a nearly horisontal movement... And yes It's super loud kit...

The snare is 14" x 10" ....The rack/cage is built by Greg Voelker for me, the same man who built the custom made cages for arena bands like Whitesnake, Van Halen, Great White...
